Purpose of the job:   The successful candidate will be responsible for the direct management of the parts department.
This includes accountability for inbound and outbound freight, as well as adherence to legislative, safety, and organizational policies and procedures.
The Parts Manager will accomplish effective logistical oversight through strong leadership and decision-making skills.
Exceed agreed / budgeted profit margins and increase market share through a well-developed and motivated parts team.
Duties: Maintaining strict control over inventory levels, by ensuring a high level of parts availability, to meet internal and external demand of product Regular review of purchase price associated to OE and/or local suppliers Achieve an acceptable market share, through maximizing sales of parts to trade and distribution to customers Plan, manage and monitor the implementation of governance, compliance, integrity, and ethics Implement processes to identify, manage risks and expose liabilities Source, manage, identify and address customer needs by providing a variety of related parts, products and accessories, to enhance satisfaction and retention Implement people resource planning in line with delivery, performance objectives, and budget Managing the receiving, shipping, handling, distribution, and storage of all freight, products, and local/international supplies that come in and out of the warehouses Ensuring all orders are shipped to customers (internal and external) in a timely manner in adherence to delivery schedules Communicating all delays or variances in inbound/outbound freight to the appropriate parties (internal and external) Planning warehouse layout and space requirements to prevent loss or damage, and to achieve full warehouse optimization Considering full implications of freight turnover, size, weight, and other factors when allocating warehouse space Enforcing company policies regarding security and safety to maintain a safe working environment Investigating causes of lost or damaged shipments and other matters, adjusting where necessary Core Competencies: Customer Focus Communication Teamwork Quality Oriented Time Management Adaptability/ Flexibility Creative and Innovative Thinking Planning and Organizing Problem Solving Result Focused Accountability and Dependability Ethics and Integrity Mediating and Negotiating Leadership Coaching and Mentoring Staff Management Enforcing Laws, Rules and Regulations Minimum Qualification and Requirements: Postgraduate, diploma and prior experience in Parts Management and/or Inventory Management Driver's License Managerial experience in a parts department Ability to make calculations such as discounts, freight estimates, dimensional weight, invoices, and percentages Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Autoline Experience Ability to make decisions Good knowledge of Parts Stock ordering and Controls     *Only candidates that meet the criteria will be shortlisted and contacted *If you have not heard from us within 14 days from submission of your CV to us, you can assume you have not been successful *Only candidates with Automotive Industry experience will be considered and contacted unless otherwise stipulated If you are interested and have the required SKILLS and EXPERIENCE according to the job spec, please UPLOAD your current, updated CV on our Website using the following link: https://selectmotor.co.za/job-application/   For further information please feel free to contact Debbie at Select Motor Recruitment 011 615 7747 Applications should be submitted no later than Monday 2 December 2024.
