Autocad Draughtsman

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Drafting:
Develop detailed general assembly, manufacturing, and installation drawings for steel tanks, plants, and new projects.
Create 2D and 3D technical drawings to support product development and installations.
Ensure all drawings align with customer requirements, industry standards, and internal specifications.
Product Development:
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and installation teams to design innovative solutions.
Assist in the creation of prototype drawings for new developments and technical proposals.
Bill of Materials (BOM) Management:
Prepare and update the Bill of Materials for every product based on latest design iterations.
Ensure the BOM reflects accurate material quantities, part descriptions, and specifications.
Design Modifications and Revisions:
Implement revisions to existing drawings in response to engineering changes, feedback from site installations, or production requirements.
Manage version control and ensure updated drawings are available to relevant teams.
Project Collaboration and Coordination:
Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical for production.
Coordinate with installation teams to develop clear, executable drawings for site work.
Support the project manager in reviewing project designs and timelines to meet delivery goals.

Requirements:

Diploma or degree in Drafting, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
Familiarity with design standards for steel structures and tank manufacturing is an advantage.
Experience in BOM creation and management.
Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver within deadlines.

Preferred Experience:

Experience working in the steel manufacturing, water storage, or plant design industry.
Knowledge of fabrication processes and installation practices.
Exposure to project management tools is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: R240000,00 - R350000,00 per year
