Job Description A very well sought-after engineering consultancy firm is urgently on the lookout for an associate-level Structural Engineer with mining and petrochemical experience.
The successful candidate needs:
Relevant Educational Background: Civil & Structural Engineering Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with at least 15-20 years of post-graduate experience, 5-10 of which is post-registration. Post Graduate Degree will be advantageous. Professional Registration: Professionally registered with ECSA is mandatory. Design Management Experience: At least 5-10 years of experience managing design teams & working with clients. Business Development Skills: Proven business development experience, design & project leading experience. Multidisciplinary Experience: Experience working in a multidisciplinary environment is a must. Petrochemical & Mining Expertise: A solid background in the design of petrochemical & mining structures. Technical Knowledge: Sound knowledge in the use of a variety of structural analysis software. Must understand structural modelling software (e.g., Prokon, Strant7, SAFE and possibly Space Gas or the like). Engineering Codes and Standards: Proven knowledge and experience of the relevant engineering codes, standards, and practices. Seismic Experience: Seismic design experience (preferred). Mining Project Execution: Proven mining project execution experience, strong winning work, client-facing capability and experience. Personal Attributes: Confident, well-spoken, self-starter, disciplined, detail and deadline/delivery oriented. Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills (proven ability to interact well with personnel at all organizational levels).
