StockbrokingContract: PermanentRemuneration: Market RelatedEE position: YesIntroductionTo manage onsite reviews and desk-based monitoring as well as to oversee the JSE role in assisting the FSB (Financial Services Board) in discharging their supervisory obligation in respect of the FICA (Financial Intelligence Centre Act) in order to ensure regulatory compliance of JSE members.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain a professional approach towards regulatory interactions with member firms to promote the JSE reputation as a trusted regulator.Ensure all interactions with member firms and stakeholders are professional and do not tarnish the JSE's good reputation.Build relationships with colleagues, peers, and staff using appropriate interpersonal styles.Interact in a way that promotes openness and trust, giving confidence in one's intentions.Communicate with honesty and integrity.Establish working relationships with officials at the FIC and FSCA.Deepen knowledge of JSE rules and directives for all markets and develop an appreciation of the role of the JSE and Market Regulation.Ensure consistent communication with members and uphold JSE values at all times.Protect and Grow Core Business: Member Firm ReviewsAssess member compliance with the Act and rules regarding securities services by conducting on-site reviews.Identify higher risk areas across all markets and assess if member firms' FICA and AML procedures meet minimum requirements.Ensure member review work meets high-quality standards and deadlines.Issue reports for all reviews performed, ensuring members understand and acknowledge the report's content.Plan member reviews to avoid unnecessary delays and resource wastage.Compile a draft plan for the following year's work schedule and liaise with the line manager regarding review selection.Develop and enhance review procedures continually to align with best practices and updates to the Act and Rules.Transform the Business: StaffingLead and develop a small team through training and skills transfers to ensure team members are skilled, effective, and motivated.Coach staff to enable performance in line with agreed expectations.Share knowledge gained from experience and foster a culture of continuous learning within the group.Guide team members in their duties and assist in navigating complex issues.JSE ValuesGrowing togetherConnecting for Co-creationMinimum Requirements3 years of work experience in an auditing environment within the financial services sector, including 1 year in a compliance environment and 1 year in a management role.
