Package: R1 065 894.00 per annum plus benefitsRequirements:A BSc Hons in Medical Physics or equivalent. An MSc in Medical Physics will be an added advantage.Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Physicist in the category of independent practice.A minimum of 3 years appropriate experience after registration as a Medical Physicist.QA experience in Nuclear Medicine, Radiotherapy, and Radiology.Experience in radiation equipment management processes; including needs assessments, procurement processes, specifications, installations, and maintenance.Experience in teaching, training, research, planning, and implementation of academic programmes.Sound knowledge of regulations pertaining to the Hazardous Substance Act of 1973 in accordance with the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority.Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, conflict management) and interpersonal skills.A good knowledge of analytical and report writing and computer skills.Duties:Supervision of routine Medical Physics service delivery activities in Nuclear Medicine, with support to Radiotherapy and Diagnostic Radiology as required.Oversee the development and implementation of policies, protocols, and Standard Operating Procedures.Ensuring compliance with national and international standards and regulations.Teaching and training at both University and Hospital level.External coordination with other institutions in the province or national on Medical Physics activities.Active participation and assistance with the research and development programme of the Medical Physics Department.Participate in the Radiation protection programme and training at Steve Biko Academic Hospital.Work closely with Medical Physicists, Nuclear Medicine Physicians, and Radiographers.Responsible for QA including dosimetry in Nuclear Medicine.Ensure all radiation protection requirements are met and good practices are followed.Maintain own Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in accordance with professional standards.Notes:Applications should be submitted strictly online at the following E-Recruitment portal: http://professionaljobcenter.gpg.gov.za.
