Your opportunity:
Under the general direction of the Facility Manager, the Assistant Facility Manager is responsible and accountable for the implementation of daily work duties and responsibilities of full-time and part-time staff under their direction; relating to the maintenance, security, and physical operation of the Facility and the support services to the members, lessees, guests, and/or spectators. The Assistant Facility Manager supports the short and long term facility planning activities and acts as the Facility Manager's designate in their absence.
Your responsibilities will include: Determining logistical details required to provide provisional facilities support during events and scheduling the set up and take down of equipment required for events.Tracking and monitoring work order status, and ensuring that work orders are completed appropriately.Responsible for the purchase ($2,500 maximum), delivery, storage set up, security, servicing, and day to day distribution of equipment.Resolving issues within the scope of the role and escalating problems as required.Following rules and procedural instructions to ensure visual appearance standards are maintained.Creating and editing a standard operating procedures manual.Responding to incidents and notifying appropriate staff, supervisors and/or authorities as needed.Supervising non-USW bargaining unit employees, providing formal job-related training and responsibility for scheduling and workflow.Essential Qualifications: Bachelors degree, preferably in Physical and Health Education, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum three years of related sport facility management and leadership experience in a comparable facility conducting facility administration and directing maintenance duties.Minimum three years of experience performing preventative maintenance, repair, renovation projects, and experience in budget management.Minimum three years managing and supervising staff, preferably unionized employees.Demonstrated experience with Health and Safety issues, emergency planning and emergency response.Mechanical aptitude necessary with understanding of simple repairs and basic materials management and maintenance.Excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service, planning, scheduling and supervisory skills.Excellent negotiation and diplomacy skills, proven ability to collaborate and participate effectively within a team.Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Knowledge of related trades (Electrical, Plumbing, Locksmith and Carpentry) is necessary.Must have good judgement to analyze situations quickly, effectively and confidentially.Must have a high degree of initiative and self-motivation and the ability to prioritize work independently according to demands.Must have the ability to exercise tact and discretion and maintain a positive attitude while under pressure.Knowledge of employment standards, health and safety and sound management practices.Assets (Nonessential): A working knowledge of facilities and human resource policies and procedures and their application is an asset.Labour relations experience is an asset.To be successful in this role you will be: CooperativeDiplomaticProceduralPunctualTeam playerClosing Date: 11/20/2024, 11:59PM ET

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone: USW Pay Band 11 -- $75,223. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $96,196. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
