Nexia SAB&T seeks to appoint a dynamic individual on fixed term contract in Pretoria to fill the following position:
Assistant Director: Demand Planning (REF: //3)
Job Purpose:
To provide provincial and national customers with a demand forecast and the cash up thereof, on a short, medium and long-term basis so that business decisions can be made and to support the health product value chain planning requirements and in so doing improving medicine availability.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Data preparation, analysis and interpretation
Conduct data acquisition and data governance
Cleanse the data acquired from Provincial and or National medicine procurement systems
Engage with Provincial stakeholders to validate the data acquired
Segment and analyse data – ABC analysis, VEN (Vital, Essential Necessary) and CV (Co-efficient of Variation)
Prepare data to be forecast ready
Development of base statistical forecast
Input prepared data into forecasting tool
Ensure correct setup and model hierarchy
Ensure that the appropriate forecasting model is selected
Correct or override outliers
Compile baseline statistical trend analyses
Export forecast output
Engage with Provincial demand planning champions to review baseline forecasts that require further insight
Enrichment of demand plans with Provincial and national program input
Engage with relevant programme teams, clinical teams and other stakeholders to validate/source additional insights for enrichment purposes
Incorporate the data sourced into baseline forecast and validate the output with the relevant stakeholders
Incorporate any phasing in of new products and phasing out of old products including new product introductions
Cash up of the forecast in support of the financial budgeting process
Collate current costs for all items
Cash up the forecast utilizing the forecasting tool
Measure cashed up forecast against approved budget
Monitor Provincial demand plans versus budget on a monthly basis
Identify variances and provide corrective measure
Conduct Demand Review
Compile demand plan reports as required and publish it to the various stakeholders in Province and at National
Supply planning
Finance
Contract Management Unit
Tender forecasting
Management and other stakeholders
Handle demand Province specific related queries
Other Demand Planning activities
Implementation of the SOPs for Demand Planning
Provide training and support to the Provincial demand planning champion
Qualification, Skills, Competencies & Experience:
A minimum qualification of a three-year bachelor's degree/national diploma or equivalent NQF level 7 qualification in Supply Chain Management, Statistics or equivalent.
An orientation towards the quantitative disciplines in statistics and economics would be advantageous.
At least three years' experience in Demand and or Supply Planning in a public or private sector.
Exposure to the pharmaceutical industry is desirable.
General Supply Chain Management knowledge.
Good understanding of big data techniques.
Familiar with the broad concepts such as the national medicines policy, essential medicines lists, standard treatment guidelines.
Familiar with relevant legislation including the PFMA, PPPFA and B-BBEEA.
Quantitative and analytical skills including demand forecasting and planning.
Leadership and problem-solving skills; able to shape and influence for adoption of new ways of working that will address challenges with the supply chain.
Good inter-personal skills including customer orientation, assertiveness and negotiation skills.
Good communication skills (written & verbal) at all levels with personal gravitas.
Planning, organisational and administrative skills.
Computer literacy, including full Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.), with advanced training in Excel.
Advanced MS Excel skills and ability to manage big data.
Ability to work independently and function as part of a broader team.
Energetic, adaptable and pragmatic.
