Duties and Responsibilities
• Repairing, servicing and conducting maintenance of heavy machinery (such as
forklifts, empty container handlers, bulldozers etc.).
• Trouble-shooting systems and equipment.
• Identify and diagnose mechanical issues by reading and interpreting diagnostic
tests.
• Replace malfunctioning parts by performing basic maintenance and care,
including tire rotations, oil changes and checking fluid levels
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify issues.
• Conduct initial visual inspections and tests to ensure proper functioning.
• Replace or repair faulty components and systems.
• Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair work.
• Adhere to deadlines and targets.
• Ensuring safety is adhered to in all tasks and protective gear is worn at all times.
• Daily reporting of breakdowns to senior technician and on relevant group chats.
• Completion of job cards and providing feedback to operations manager in writing.
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification as a Diesel Technician or trade test is advantageous.
• Proven experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
• Driver's License
• At least 1—2 years working experience as a diesel technician or a similar field.
• Ability to follow health and safety regulations.
• Familiarity with technical concepts, port machinery and operating systems.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics.
• Ability to lift heavy objects.
