The main purpose of this position/job is to provide administrative support for the research related activities in the School. This includes accurate recording of school's research outputs for DHET subsidy reporting; keeping track of research active staff within the School; facilitating the ethics application process within the School; liaising with the Faculty research office and the central research office for research queries that may arise, provide administrative support to academic administrators (particularly, but not limited to, relating to postgraduate research and marks entry) and assist with redirecting enquiries to appropriate staff within the School.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours) required include:
Knowledge of the ROCS, SIMS, AMS and Ulwazi/ LMS system.
Knowledge of Scopus and Google scholar or similar analytical tools.
Knowledge of DHET research outputs policy.
Ability to use Microsoft Office software to produce reports.
Attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively face-to-face, by telephone and by e-mail.
Knowledge of ethics application procedures.
Ability to use an electronic reference manager.
Overall management and coordination of Front-desk/Reception area Requirements:
Matric and Desirable Diploma.
At least 1 year relevant experience.
University environment will be advantageous.
