Thungela focuses on exporting its thermal coal portfolio mainly to the Indian, Asian, Southeast Asian, Middle East and North African markets.Job DescriptionAs the Assistant Accountant you will reconcile ledger balance sheet accounts, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all recons.More of your responsibilities will include:Accurate preparation of general accounting, payroll, cost and accrual journals and the reallocation of incorrect postingsSupporting the accurate preparations and submission of Minerals Council of SA and DMREAssisting the Accountant with month-end reporting, ensuring the cost completeness is in line with requirementsAssisting the Accountant with forecasting and budgeting processesPreparations of reconciliationsPopulating the Cost Performance Management template and supporting the process of cost reviewsManaging relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, understand and deliver on their operational needs, and identify and resolve issues timeouslyQualificationsDiploma/ Degree in Accounting or Financial discipline (NQF 6/7)Experience & KnowledgeMinimum of 3 years' experience in Finance environmentSAP experience is essentialAdditional InformationProficient knowledge of SAP, Ramesys and HFMEmerging knowledge of data analysis and reporting techniques, processes, and toolsInternational Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)Income tax actWho We AreWe're a company that promotes an environment that inspires innovation and where people have a shared sense of purpose.
