Asset Controller

3 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACTWill work with the Head of the Finance, and the Cost Accountant.Purpose Of The PositionAssist with verifying Assets in different cost centers in the organization (specifically the manufacturing plant and machinery). The individual will be conducting a thorough asset stock take and with the Cost Accountant identify, propose and revise asset descriptions (where necessary).The individual will be focused most of the day verifying assets and proposing corrective actions and is not expected to be office bound.Required to do physical verification (existence) of assets from a spreadsheet (and vice versa).Check with Management in making a call on correct manufacturing assets descriptions, allocation and reporting of assets.DutiesVerify the accuracy of the SAP Asset Register (Cost Centre/Asset Class/Naming) to the existence of the physical AssetsAssets physical verified within cost centers (from Sheet to Floor and Floor to sheet) to propose corrective action which could include:Renaming of identified assetsEnsuring Assets are in the correct Asset Class on SAPEnsuring Assets are in the correct Cost Centres on SAPSplitting of Assets with more than 1 main componentIdentifying condition of Assets & initiate scrapping of assets that needs to be disposed ofTagging/labelling of all company assets with stickers/barcodes (where possible)Weekly update meetings on progress to ensure completion of project within the stipulated timelineAudit trail - keeping track of all changes documented for audit purposesSeniority levelEntry levelEmployment typeContractJob functionAccounting/Auditing and FinanceIndustriesManufacturing
