Key Responsibilities:Adhere to the works orders to execute all the preventive, planned and unplanned maintenance responsibilities effectively to prevent repetitive failures and contribute towards achieving the maintenance KPI's and targets.Execute all the relevant maintenance tasks to the correct standard and quality requirements to minimise rework and repetitive failures.Record all completed work accurately on the JDE system for reporting and costing purposes.Coach and support the production personnel to improve their knowledge, skills, and competence in the operation and lubrication of the respective machines to improve the overall effectiveness of the equipment.Apply Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and participate in team-based problem solving to find root causes and solutions for all the mechanical related problems on the equipment.Attend the daily maintenance meetings to plan and review the maintenance activities for the day and allocate responsibilities.Conduct shift handovers with the incoming End Maker to provide detailed feedback of work that was done, problems experienced, solutions found and work to be continued with.Perform the relevant daily equipment inspections to ensure equipment functions effectively and any abnormalities are identified and addressed timeously to reduce downtime, equipment deterioration and breakdowns.Clean equipment prior to starting the repairs to detect causes of contamination and abnormalities easily to focus on the correct repairs.Lubricate the equipment, using the approved lubrication schedules to ensure the equipment functions optimally.Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act and adhere to all safety requirements, policies and procedures of the company to ensure a safe working environment.Wear the correct Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) specific to tasks to ensure personal safety.Perform daily safety checks on the equipment to ensure all safety features are functioning properly, injuries to people and damage to equipment and products are prevented.Participate in problem solving to identify root causes of quality defects to bring the production process and equipment performance back in control.Perform the daily work routines in accordance with the operational excellence requirements, processes and tools.Take operational ownership (See-It, Own-It, Solve It and Do-It Culture).Comply with Nampak's 5S standards (sort, set in order, shine, standardise, sustain) rules and requirements to ensure the workshop and equipment area is always clean, orderly, organised and safe during work and after maintenance.Qualifications:MatricN2 in MechanicalPassed the Trade Test in Fitting and Turning
