Our client, an International Consultancy Company with offices based in Woodstock, Cape Town has an opening for an Architect Project Manager. They provide dedicated design management services to world renowned architects including Aedes, Foster + Partners, HKS and more!The role:This role focuses on managing design processes rather than actively participating in design. It supports architectural practices by overseeing the delivery of design management services across multiple projects. Please note: This is NOT a designer role and will NOT be involved in the construction phase of projects. They also do NOT deliver IT Software.Responsibilities:Carry out project management activities, which include:Supporting the Architect in the administration / set-up and QA activities of the projectManage the interface between the design team and the clientBe responsible for progress reportingProvide strategic advice where neededPlan and structure the design process with the design team, to provide a collaborative outputProvide high quality of service and receive positive feedback from the ClientPreparation of documentation and consultancy services supporting architects on design competitions: Issue accurate, correct and quality documentationDemonstrate a pro-active approach to engaging with the project team(s), following up on information exchanges and monitoring programme tasksAbility to manage and multi-task workload prioritiesRequirements:At least 3 years' experience in architecture and/or design, with a good understanding of the design processes. (Please note this is a non-design role)Project Management experienceMust be comfortable presenting and interfacing with clients and have good communication skillsUnderstanding/knowledge of RIBA stages (OR similar)Proficient in MS Word, MS ExcelExperience with Visio and MS Projects is a plus.Key Qualities:A professional individual who can manage priorities and respond well to pressureKeen to learn, be proactive, considerate, tactful and a relationship builderStrategic thinker with "big picture" perspective and commercial awarenessA positive attitude, a motivator and high attention to detail.
