Aquatic Ecologist Intern

The successful candidate will be required to assist with aquatic ecology related projects and administration.



Job Description

Conduct field work and data collection throughout Africa focusing on macro-invertebrates and fish ecological aspects.
Undertake specialist impact assessments within this field of expertise
Conduct research, focusing specifically on aquatic ecology.
Write specialist reports based on findings

Skills and Knowledge

Good foundational Knowledge of aquatic ecology.
Basic understanding and practical experience with environmental legislation and National Water Act.
They must be able to work with a 20kg fish shocker (Smithroot/Halltech) in flowing systems.
Project management.
Must be a strong swimmer.
Environmental Management Legislation and Principles.
Must be willing to travel throughout Africa.
Valid Driver's License (Advantageous)

Qualifications: BSc degree in Aquatic Health. Preferably a student who is currently registered for their MSc.
Professional Registration: Preferably registered with SASS and SACNASP.
