Job Description:
Responsible for testing all products (raw materials/finished products) as per relevant ASTM and internal test methods. Ensure that they meet TotalEnergies & customer's requirements.

Job Responsibilities:
Carry out calibration/ verification checks on all lab instruments/equipment.
Involvement in Quality inspections of packaging material
Issue certificates of analysis upon request
Operation and necessary trouble shooting of the various Lab instruments / equipment.
Conduct Pre-Use Inspections on all lab equipment before use. Ensure safe operation all lab instruments.
Capturing of data into spreadsheets and maintaining of all records.
Quality Assurance on filling lines and Dispatch.
Test & approve all bulk & filling line samples
Assume the duties of the Lab Assistant or Lab Manager in their absence
Approve all blend instructions prior to blending
Carry out trial blends on request.
Quality Audits on manufacturing processes
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Participate in Round Robin Analysis and ensure results are submitted to lab Manager timeously.
Investigate blend failures and complete Incident reports.
Ensure good housekeeping/ 5S is always maintained
Test all effluent samples for compliance with Environmental system requirements
Job Requirements:
Fully Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel. Working experience on Power BI is an advantage
Working knowledge on HSEQ system requirements i.e., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and safety systems ISO 45001
Good problem solving and root cause analysis skills
High attention to detail
Driver's licence – own vehicle preferable.
Good knowledge of various instruments used in laboratory analysis i.e., ICP, XRF, Kinematic
Viscometer, Density, Flash tester and FTIR
Minimum- National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry with BTECH in Quality preferred
Good communication Skills (oral and written). Good report writing skills and ability to report back on product trials
Minimum 3 years' experience in a petrochemical laboratory environment
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-moving production laboratory.
Knowledge of chemistry of petroleum products and testing an advantage.
Must be prepared to work long hours, shifts and weekend.
Manufacturing (Blend Plant, Petroleum Industry, etc) or related Manufacturing environment Safety Rules.
