IntroductionOur client is a nationwide hazardous waste management and environmental remediation company, seeking an Environmental Officer in Durban, KZN.Duties & ResponsibilitiesEnsure company complies with relevant environmental legislationManagement of environmental emergency incidentsManagement of historical contaminationManagement of uncontained spillagesProviding internal environmental guidance and recommendationsConduct site visits, collecting data to establish a baseline condition for levels of pollution or contamination for a site or areas of considerationTechnical Report preparationCommunicating with clients, regulators, and sub-contractorsAdhoc dutiesDesired Experience & QualificationExperience with Environmental/Contamination Site assessmentsEnvironmental Science/Geohydrology/Geology degreeSkilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, and SharePointOwn VehicleDetailed experience and knowledge of the relevant Acts is beneficial:National Environmental Management Act (Act No. 107 of 1998)National Environmental Management: Waste Act (Act No. 59 of 2008)National Water Act (Act No. 36 of 1998)Package & RemunerationFixed term contractLocation of Office: DurbanHours: 07h30 to 16h30, Monday to Friday and one Saturday per month
