ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER 1 Post: 2-year Contract The SAMRC, through its SAFOODS Division, has the mandate to maintain and update the South African Food Composition Database, while related products, tools and services provide access to the food composition and related databases to the broader nutrition fraternity. Clients comprise universities, research institutions, food industry, hospitals, laboratories and private practicing health professionals. SAFOODS portfolio of research products and services include the FoodFinder web based dietary intake analysis program, the DIASA dietary intake assessment tool, food composition tables, food quantities manual as well as Data cleaning, coding, linking and statistical services. This position entails administrative support functions to the SAFOODS office, team and compilation and research projects, moreover, focusing on the administrative functions and tasks related to the portfolio of SAFOODS products, tools and services provided to clients in the nutrition fraternity.
Responsibilities: Assisting with planning, coordinating, and managing all logistics and operations Managing of manager's diary Office filling and minute taking Assist with project administration and reporting Scanning of food item records Core Requirements: Applicable or relevant post matric training /qualification 1 to 2 years office administration experience Computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Strong communication skills Advantageous: 3 years post Matric administrative office qualification SAFOODS admin and SAFOODS product and service administration SAMRC admin systems 1 to 2 years office administration, preferably in healthcare or research Terms & Conditions: The SAMRC retains the right not to make an appointment.
