Location: Cape TownPosition/Title: Accounts Payable ClerkReports To: Procure to Pay Team LeadEmployment Type: PermanentNumber of Reports: 0Overall Responsibility:Assist the Accountant in executing the day to day tasks and responsibilities.Monthly Supplier Statement reconciliationsTimely review and investigation of reconciling differencesDistribution of invoices for approval across the departmentsEnsure all supplier related invoice documentation is filed correctlyEnsure all supplier related payments are loaded and paid timeouslyResolution of all supplier queries in a timely mannerCo-ordination of the annual scanning of all invoices with third partyCoding of all invoices and employee expensesFocus Area 2: Bank and CashPetty cash managementLoading of paymentsBank ReconsAccurate and timely GL reconsPosts customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactionsApproval of paymentsRequirements of the Role:Must have completed the Degree/Diploma in Accounting, Bcom accounting, Financial accounting.Completed or Partially completed (with a view to complete in the near future) CA or CIMA qualificationAt least 2 years' accounts payable work experience – preferably in the manufacturing industryKnowledge of Accounting SystemsGood computer software skills (Excel and Acumatica would be preferable).Good communication and interaction skills with people on all levels in the organization.Ability to adhere to strict deadlines.Able to work on your own, unsupervised.Strong ability to multitask and prioritise.Willing to be challenged and work well within a team.Strong organisational and time management skills.Attention to detail when reporting.Excellent influencing and facilitation skills.Note: Specific duties/responsibilities will vary from time to time: the above list is intended to indicate the general nature of the post and is not exhaustive.
