Job Spec_Accountant_Somerset West (Temp position)My client is a leading diversified Civil Engineering Company with a track record of over 30 years of delivering quality works to clients in Civil and Concrete Works, Renewable Energy and Building Projects.They are passionate about what they do, their numerous industry awards attest to their performance excellence, they enjoy challenges, and actively seek out ways to do things better, devising and deploying new, innovative engineering solutions whilst working as a team to accomplish great outcomes.My client is currently seeking an experienced accountant to join the team for a maternity leave contract (to join a handover from 1 December - 13 December 2024 and to work from 9 January- 30 May 2025).Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role based in Somerset West for the dates as specified above in the City of Cape Town for an Accountant.
As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and analyzing data to ensure compliance with regulations.QualificationsProficiency in accounting software (Buildsmart Advantageous) and Microsoft Excel (essential).
Microsoft Excel skills at Intermediate to Advanced Level.Knowledge of accounting principles and regulationsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsEffective communication and interpersonal abilitiesBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (advantageous)Experience Required:At least 10 years experience in AccountingMust be a team player who is able to think out of the box.
Preference will be given to individuals already based in the Western Cape given the urgent start date of the position.
