The Group has a vacancy for an analytical, hardworking and dynamic individual to join the Finance team as a Junior Cost Accountant. The successful candidate will report directly to the Cost Accountant and be based at our Head Office in Epping, Cape Town.Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited toMaintain an integrated costing system / report with specified primary and secondary cost centresReview and maintain data accumulation systems and controls needed for the cost accounting system and reporting within an accounting framework on a monthly basisAnalysis of expenses and ensure allocation to correct primary and secondary cost centresReport on periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on spending variancesProvide reports and explanations to line managementReviewing overhead costs to ensure correct allocation and reportingProduce operational costing calculations – i.e. transport job costing and tender costingProduce profitability calculation for manufacturing divisionsCapital project cost trackingQualifying Criteria National Diploma in Cost Accounting majoring in CostingPrevious experience in a Costing environment is essentialKnowledge and/or experience working on AccPac, TM1 Cognos and Fraxion advantageousAdvanced computer literacy – MS Office, high proficiency in MS ExcelManufacturing and/or Logistic background advantageousEmotionally matured and dynamic individualAbility to multi-task and pay attention to detailAbility to work well under pressureAbility to collaborate with a multi-department teamMust have clear credit and criminal clearanceQualifying Attributes:Good communication skillsMust be able to work with minimum supervisionTrustworthy, Commitment to a strong business ethic and integrityThe ability to detect and solve problemsOpenminded and logical thinkerSelf-motivated and results orientatedMust be a team playerTime management and organizational skillsDisplay a professional work approachLogical and detail orientatedExcellent standards of executionConfidentiality, tact and discretion essentialAbility to meet deadlines and deliver results (time management)
