Accountant Maydon Wharf

Our client in Maydon Wharf, Durban is looking for an accountant to join their team.Based in the warehousing and logistics industry, the role will include looking after a small group of related companies. Experience of accounting in the warehousing industry would be highly desirable.Duties & ResponsibilitiesManage the entire accounting function for the business including attending to the bookkeeping function.Monthly management accounts and reporting packs for the business.Prepare budgets and monitoring as required by the director.Work with the external accountants for year end purposes, preparing packs and reconciliations.Attend SARs returns, verifications and queries.Desired Experience & QualificationCompleted SAICA or SAIPA articles.Minimum 3 years' post articles experience in accounting.Strong technical knowledge of tax and accounting principles.Experience in dealing with SARS both via efiling and other channels.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Experience in training and mentoring staff.Drivers licence.High attention to detail.Package & RemunerationThe salary is dependent on the level of experience and academic study and as such, the range of pay for this role is negotiable. A qualifying candidate can expect around R25,000.00 CTC per month.
