A leading Earthing and Lightning Protection company is seeking an Accountant to oversee the accounting operations of the business. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented with strong analytical skills, possess project costing experience, and have a comprehensive understanding of financial reporting standards. This role requires someone who can ensure accurate financial management and support the company's continued success in delivering high-quality protection solutions.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Accounting (BCom Accounting or equivalent) – Mandatory Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on Excel Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail Excellent problem-solving, analysis, and judgment abilities Resilience and adaptability in handling challenges Effective time management and organizational skills High level of professional and technical competence Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation abilities Leadership qualities, with the ability to lead by example and motivate others High energy, drive, and commitment to achieving excellence Ethical behavior and integrity Strong relationship-building skills and responsiveness to customer needs Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Duties and Responsibilities: Process all financial transactions up to trial balance Prepare detailed project costing reports Draft management accounts for review Provide accurate financial reporting and analysis Manage all banking activities Perform monthly creditors reconciliations and payments Process month-end journals and adjustments Prepare month-end reconciliations for all Balance Sheet General Ledger accounts Prepare audit files and liaise with external auditors Assist with ad-hoc finance projects as needed Conduct effective cash flow forecasting Prepare and manage budgets Calculate and prepare tax submissions Ensure compliance with SARS requirements (Income Tax, VAT, and Employee Tax), including reconciliation, submission, and payment Maintain the Fixed Asset Register Ensure effective governance and risk management practices Supervise and review the work of relevant finance staff Perform any other duties as assigned by the direct line manager
