Accountant

Established and specialist investment business seeks an experienced Accountant to join their team. This is a dynamic and passionate team of investment professionals. Role reports to the Head of Finance and is a full time and in-office position. This role suits a professional accountant, who enjoys a high performance culture, fast-paced environment and someone who is detail orientated and passionate about providing high quality work.Responsibilities:Prepare and maintain financial records and documents accuratelyResponsible for accounting processes and tasks - payments,fees,general ledger account reconciliationsCo-ordinate and liaise with internal parties to support internal company activitiesMonitor and analyse financial data and identify discrepanciesPrepare and assist with preparation of financial and departmental reports,budgets,annual financial statementsAssist with preparation of company taxesEnsure compliance with regulations and guidelines affecting the financesRequirements:Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting with Post Graduate Diploma or Honours in Accounting or similarMust have completed articles or have at least 3-5 years' work experience in a similar role within the financial sectorSolid knowledge of IFRS and accounting principles and practicesStrong Microsoft Excel knowledge, ability to work on Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Great Plains adventageous Excellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and accuracySelf-starter who is able to plan, organise and take initiative to meet department/job objectives and deadlines independentlyThis is an Employment Equity designated opportunity, in line with our clients EE requirements.Please note that if you have not heard from us within 2 weeks of your application, please consider it as unsuccessful for this particular role.
