Accountant

Our client, a distinguished player in the insurance sector, is actively seeking a dedicated Accountant to join their Partnership Division. Established in 1990, our client has carved a niche in the surety and guarantee market, predominantly serving the construction sector. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the Finance team, contributing to the financial health and strategic growth of the organization.Join our client's dynamic Finance team as an Accountant, where you will play a pivotal role in managing full accounting functions for various partners. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a passion for financial accuracy and a knack for problem-solving. You will be instrumental in monthly reporting, addressing financial concerns, and understanding the business performance of partners.ResponsibilitiesAssist with the preparation of monthly management accounts.Ensure all payments are supported by necessary documentation.Manage daily current bank account balances, transferring excess cash to investment accounts as needed.Capture and allocate Partner (UMA) bank accounts correctly, ensuring monthly reconciliations.Reconcile and agree on intercompany balances monthly, investigating and clearing any differences.Prepare and pay monthly VAT returns.Assist with the preparation of complete and accurate SAM returns.Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all accounts.RequirementsBCom in Accounting or similar.1-2 years of accounting experience, with insurance experience being an advantage.Proficiency in Excel.Excellent administrative and organizational skills.Desired SkillsMonthly reporting.Financial Statements.
