Accountant

Our client in the finance industry is currently looking for an Accountant to support their growing business. This position is based in Sandton. Duties include, but are not limited to:?Preparing financial statements like balance sheets and income statements to gauge an organization's financial health and measure performanceCalculating taxes, ensuring regulatory compliance, filing tax returns, and providing tax planning adviceConducting internal or external audits to ensure financial data accuracy and compliance with accounting rulesHelping make budgets and financial forecasts to guide business decisionsAnalyzing financial data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for growthEnsuring recorded financial transactions are correct and fixing discrepanciesGiving financial advice to management and suggesting improvements to financial processesAdapting with evolving industry standards and emerging technology trends, including changing tax laws or new accounting softwareFull bookkeeping functionPerform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and provide balance sheet analysis.Identify areas of improvement of business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls.Assist with tax audits and, where applicable, prepare tax returns.Perform quarterly tax effect accounting.Assisting with annual audit preparations.Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.Preparing financial analyses and reports.Ensuring the general ledger is perfectly maintained.RequirementsFinance or Accounting Degree or similar.SAICA , SAIPA or related articles completed.Must be registered as a Tax PractitionerMinimum 7 years experienceExperience in leading or managing a team.Financial Reporting and Audit experience required.Experience in Statutory ReturnsERP Systems experienceDesired SkillsSAICASAIPAERP SYSTEMS
