We offer a highly diverse, professional and supportive environment with opportunities for development and growth.Description:Overview of Duties:Under limited supervision, responsible for moderately complex accounting activities relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and the resultant managerial reports and financial statements in AHRI. Reports financial results monthly to management to enable appraisal of actual performance against target/s.Works closely with the CFO, Head of Finance, Financial Reporting and System Specialist and Accountant to ensure smooth operation of all finance matters.Input accounting data into the accounting system with speed and accuracy.Plan, organize and manage own workload to ensure contribution to the organization's monthly financial reporting process is achieved in a timely and accurate manner.Assist with month end and year-end preparation and procedures.Manage team's monthly deadlines.Undertake financial administration activities for the organization.Raise any matters and/or concerns as they relate to the delivery of tasks.Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.Summarize current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.Maintain financial security by following internal controls.Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.Monthly/Yearly Journal processing.Review creditor recons for payment.Prepare monthly reports for discussions with Head of departments/ Cost centre owners.Coordinate and assist in internal & external audit process.Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.Assist in the organizational budgeting process.Review general ledger & cost centres to ensure accurate & complete processing.VAT compliance and processing.Comply with statutory financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.Protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations.Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.Minimum QualificationsMin 5 years' experience at Accountant level or similar.Strong problem-solving experience is essential.SAP/Workday experience.Knowledge of relevant South African legislation.Knowledge of relevant South African good business governance and accounting regulations and knowledge on how to best implement these.Worker Type:EmployeeSkills:The application closing date: 14 Dec 2024Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted, kindly consider your application as unsuccessful if you do not hear from us within 14 days of the application closing date.AHRI is a values-driven organisation.
