Abattoir Manager

Requirements: Live in the JHB South Area. Diploma or Degree Mechanical Engineering would be preferable. Daily Operations: Control all operations of an abattoir. Refrigeration Systems Management: Oversee the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of refrigeration systems within the plant, optimizing efficiency and reliability. Project Management: Lead projects from conception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and resource allocation. Process Optimisation: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains, implementing innovative solutions to enhance productivity and reduce costs. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure that engineering systems and processes meet or exceed food safety and product quality standards. Preventative Maintenance Planning and Implementation: Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs for all critical equipment and systems, ensuring maximum uptime and reliability. Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Respond promptly to equipment failures and maintenance issues, implementing corrective actions to minimise downtime and ensure continuous operation. Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Stay informed about relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing abattoir processing operations, ensuring full compliance at all times. Strong knowledge of refrigeration principles, including HVAC systems, cold storage, and freezing technologies. Proven track record of successful project management, with the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
