Description: Course Summary - Covers management control, which involves the motivation, evaluation and rewarding of individuals constituting the organization so that they behave in ways consistent with organizational goals. This course will explore the ways management attempts to motivate, evaluate and reward members of the organization. Thus, RSM 422 is a highly integrative course, drawing upon a wide range of management and allied disciplines, with core courses in managerial and financial accounting being of major importance. Position Description: All normal duties related to the design, administration and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; supervision of teaching assistants; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and examinations; calculation and submission of grades to university officials; holding regular student office hours and maintaining reasonable availability for student contact.
Qualification: Required qualifications are an undergraduate and/or graduate degree with a specialization in Accounting or related disciplines like Economics and Finance; recent closely related teaching experience and/or professional experience related to the course. Proven excellence in teaching Management Accounting in a degree granting program at a post secondary institution preferred. Preference will be given to those with a PHD in progress or completed in a related discipline.
Class Schedule: Courses may be online or in-person depending on the circumstances, so candidates must be available and comfortable with both.
Sessional Dates of appointment: September 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024
Rate of pay inclusive of 4% vacation pay (0.5 Full-Course Equivalent) Notes: This job is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement. Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement. Please note: Undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the University of Toronto are covered by the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 collective agreement rather than the Unit 3 collective agreement, and should not apply for positions posted under the Unit 3 collective agreement.
