You will be responsible for providing comprehensive social work services to young offenders and promoting their rehabilitation and reintegration into the community.
What you'll be doing Conducting comprehensive assessments of young clients' needs and developing individualised case plansProviding counselling and support services to young people and their families to address underlying issues contributing to offending behaviourLiaising with the justice system, community organisations and other stakeholders to coordinate holistic care and support for young clientsAdvocating for the rights and wellbeing of young people and ensuring their voices are heardDelivering targeted rehabilitation and life skills programs to promote positive changeMaintaining detailed case records and contributing to the evaluation of service deliveryWhat we're looking for Tertiary qualification in Social Work or a related fieldDemonstrated experience working with at-risk youth, preferably within the justice systemStrong understanding of the unique challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young peopleExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clientsCommitment to social justice, human rights and empowering marginalised communitiesAbility to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary teamResilience and the capacity to work in a challenging and emotionally demanding environmentRequirements Ability to obtain a satisfactory "Working with Children Clearance" (Ochre Card) upon commencementSatisfactory criminal history check and no history of disqualification from employment by a legal practiceAbility to travel to remote communities to attend bush courts if requiredApply now to join our dedicated team and make a positive difference in the lives of young people in the Alice Springs community.
