(T14)DEPARTMENTCommunications and PartnershipsDIRECTORATEWATER AND SANITATIONWS 77/24 Senior Professional OfficerRequirementsB degree/BTech in Communications, Public Relations, and Stakeholder Relationship ManagementFive (5) to seven (7) years' relevant experienceA valid Code B driver's licence and own reliable vehicle for official useExcellent writing, communication, and engagement skills, and the ability to influenceAvailability and willingness to work outside standard office hours to facilitate engagements.Key Performance AreasLiaise with all relevant stakeholders (internal and external) to assist in meeting the objectives of water and sanitation management for the city as well as adequate monitoring, auditing, and reporting of progress on the implementation of water and sanitation programmes.Develop stakeholder/community engagement plans to unblock projects and aid in the implementation of those plans, as well as champion education and awareness, community engagement, and public participation for water and sanitation programmes.Plan, research, analyse, and interpret information and recommend the appropriate actions for water and sanitation projects/programmes.Coordinate and host internal and external City and partnership events, including public meetings, forums, exhibitions, site tours, workshops, community activations, and promotion of education and awareness of programmes related to the new water programme.Monitor the aspects of water conservation and water use projects implemented by other directorates, departments, and sections within the City of Cape Town, such as parks and forests, housing, and reticulation for the purpose of ensuring efficient water use.Provide stakeholder liaison for relevant branches or departments to address community issues, concerns, and defuse tensions in various communities for water and sanitation projects.Facilitate recruitment of staff and coordination of EPWP field workers.
