Workshop Mechanic

Workshop Mechanic required for a reputable company based in East London, Eastern Cape. Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. 2 years of proficiency working as a Mechanic. Thorough understanding of mechanical operations of engines, electrical systems, and hydraulics. Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions while repairing equipment. Ability to diagnose mechanical troubles and determine appropriate maintenance work. Working knowledge of light and heavy maintenance equipment and automotive apparatuses. Responsibilities: Ensure safe operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on engines, motors, and tools following operations manuals and manufacturer's instructions; adjusting reels and back lap reels. Responsible for general, detailed, and specific inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, repair, and service of all company vehicles and equipment. Follow preventive maintenance program. Maintain service log on all equipment. Keep a clean and safe work area. Display a good work attitude at all times. Oversee workshop area maintenance by ensuring that the workshop remains clean and orderly; tools are kept clean and in proper working condition.
