Topshell, a trusted partner in custom-built containers & conversions, container rentals, & self-storage, has the above opportunity available for an experienced Workshop Manager to join their special projects team, based in Blackheath, Cape Town.

The ideal candidate must enjoy building relationships with strong communication skills, be detail-oriented, results-driven, & capable of working independently & under pressure. Strong organizational skills with a passion for creative design & the ability to be innovative are essential for this role.

The successful candidate will report to the Operations Manager. Duties will include: *Manage a workshop with 26 technical staff *Coordinate with Sales & Operations on projects, scheduling, & deadlines *Plan & schedule daily work, providing instruction to teams & leaders *Update Operations Manager & customers on project status & issues *Order special items from suppliers for timely delivery *Ensure adherence to work schedules & quality standards *Oversee tooling management & control *Supervise & train workshop staff *Identify & resolve operational issues *Ensure safety compliance & proper maintenance of equipment *All other administrative tasks related to this role.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
• Mechanical Engineering diploma/degree preferred OR be a Trade-tested Toolmaker/Boilermaker/Fitter & Turner/Millwright;
• Minimum of 5 years' work experience in a similar role;
• Must have at least 3 years' of workshop management experience;
• Proficient in reading technical drawings, planning, & manufacturing;
• Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English);
• Good computer literacy (MS Office);
• Willingness to work overtime as required.
