Workshop Foreman (Sabm)

Supervise and manage a team of artisans, assistants, and general workers, providing guidance, support, and training as needed. Allocate work orders (jobs) to artisans, assistants, and general workers and ensure that work is performed in accordance with established procedures and quality standards. Monitor and review the progress of work orders, ensuring that deadlines are met, and any issues or delays are promptly addressed and recorded. Conduct regular inspections of work in progress and completed work orders to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications. Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical issues or problems, providing technical expertise and guidance to artisans, assistants, and general workers. Coordinate and schedule maintenance and repair projects, ensuring that resources, equipment, and materials are available and utilized efficiently. Maintain and update service records, including work orders, and repair logs, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe and clean working environment for both employees and customers. Collaborate with other departments or teams, such as parts procurement and stores, to facilitate smooth workflow. Provide feedback to staff that are not performing to the expected level and ensure human resources are informed of trends in performance. Promote a Health and Safety culture within the business. Engineering Trade Qualification, preferably Fitter \ Turner. Matric At least 5 years technical (on the floor) experience. Knowledge of process flow, production flow. Computer literacy. Proven experience as a technician or mechanic, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and repair procedures. Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Knowledge of relevant safety regulations, compliance standards, and environmental guidelines. Strong knowledge of shop equipment and tools, including diagnostic equipment and hand tools.
