What is the role about?
As a Workday Project Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of project management delivery, including planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling projects to successful outcomes. You will be responsible for leading initiatives and managing communications among all vested stakeholders while collaborating with functional end users, functional SMEs, department leaders, IT, vendors, and successfully delivering projects within the Workday ecosystem for VirtualResource clients. The project manager is expected to adhere to standard project management methodology and best practices with a keen understanding of the systems development life cycle (SDLC).
Manage Workday implementation projects from initiation to close adhering to project management methodology and best practices.
Develop project plans and schedules by collaborating with end and functional user groups; communicate project plan and approach to all key project stakeholders and produce and deliver project updates throughout the project.
Oversee key deliverables as required by the project and define project requirements, responsibilities, deliverables, budgets, and milestones.
Manage resources and lead workstreams in fast-paced implementation scenarios.
Manage multiple projects and/or test cycles simultaneously while keeping them on track; understand when to escalate issues and do so in a timely fashion to ensure project success.
Anticipate risks and potential bottlenecks continuously throughout the project and propose solutions and/or mitigation strategies.
What skills are we looking for?
Our roles are remotely based (even pre-Covid), meaning you will be working from your home office, connecting with your client and team on a daily basis.
To be successful in this type of environment, you will need to have the ability to communicate effectively (in English) with cross-functional teams, explain complex concepts in easy, understandable terms, align HR/business knowledge with Workday functionality, and proactively drive process improvements. You will need to be comfortable with video calls and be proactive in keeping communication channels open with your client and team.
Must have Skills Required
Excellent working knowledge of Workday and cloud technologies.
ERP implementation experience.
Experience in Agile and waterfall methodologies.
Business analysis and requirements gathering abilities.
Strong oral and written communications with excelling teamwork and interpersonal skills.
You are comfortable working with constant deadlines with the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.
Analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to analyse/synthesise data, understand trends, draw conclusions, and make recommendations for actions.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Ability to manage and prioritise effectively.
As this is a remote role, you can be based anywhere in the United Kingdom or South Africa, so long as you are authorised to work in the country you reside in without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
