A.P Maersk SA is looking for a knowledgeable and driven WMS Super-User in Cape Town. The position holder will be responsible for managing and optimizing the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations.
Responsibilities Include: Configuring, troubleshooting, and providing support for the WMS.Training warehouse staff on its use.Working closely with various teams to ensure that the system meets operational needs, facilitates accurate inventory management, and supports overall warehouse efficiency.Key Responsibilities:WMS Configuration and Management: Configure and maintain the Warehouse Management System to align with operational requirements.Monitor system performance and resolve any issues to ensure continuous operation.Implement system updates and upgrades as needed, coordinating with IT and other relevant departments.User Support and Training: Provide support to warehouse staff on WMS-related issues, troubleshooting problems, and offering solutions.Conduct training sessions for new and existing staff to ensure they are proficient in using the WMS.Develop and update training materials and user guides for the WMS.Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes through better use of the WMS.Collaborate with warehouse management to streamline operations and enhance productivity using the system.Implement best practices for WMS usage and ensure compliance with established protocols.Data Management and Reporting: Ensure accurate data entry and management within the WMS, including inventory levels, order processing, and shipping information.Generate and analyze reports from the WMS to provide insights into warehouse operations.Support decision-making by providing accurate and timely data to management.System Integration: Work with IT and other departments to ensure the WMS integrates effectively with other systems, such as ERP or TMS.Support any new system integrations or changes by providing expertise on WMS functionality and requirements.Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on WMS developments and industry best practices to continuously improve system performance and utilization.Propose and implement enhancements to the WMS to better support warehouse operations and client requirements.Qualifications:Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with Warehouse Management Systems, with a strong background in system configuration and user support.Education: Diploma in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.Skills:In-depth knowledge of WMS functionality and configuration.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Excellent communication and training abilities.Proficiency in data management and reporting tools.Experience with system integration is a plus.Note: Please make sure to apply before the 10th of September 2024.
