Winder Electrician - Mining Maintenance - Underground Maintenance Surface

The Winder Electrician will be responsible for providing electrical and instrumentation maintenance, and breakdown services to production sectionsKey Responsibilities Will IncludeMaintenance and fault finding on winding systems, fridge plant / ventilation equipment and general electrical and instrumentation installations, Schindler elevators, overhead cranes, including legal duties.Modifications and improvements in the area of responsibility.Ensuring adherence to SHEQ standards.Ensuring adherence to legal inspections on electrical and instrumentation installations.Performing standby duties and working shift when required.Housekeeping in area of responsible section.Responsible for personal safety, fellow workers and for reporting any safety incidents or accidents.Ensuring that all installations and maintenance are done according to the GS6 and GS7 specifications.Training and coaching new and existing artisans and apprentices.Effectively complete administration duties e.g. work orders, spares requests, breakdown / RCA documents etc.Educate/familiarise oneself with the related drawings and functional/operational philosophies.Conducting proper daily routines and to ensure that the equipment and systems are operating to the highest level.Responsible for first line calls on all instrumentation and electrical equipment.Doing basic maintenance and fault finding on PLC's and ET200's up to card level.Maintenance on OTN, Leaky-feeder, Cats System, Fibre network as well as CCTV and Access control system. All fire systems on surface (i.e. testing and maintaining Co sensors, fire valves and on all plants.Maintaining fault finding and repairs on systems from 24V to 11KV. Navigation of Win CC systems.Managing stock levels of spares in his area.Planning and managing own work.Intrinsic QualitiesGood inter-personal and communication skills.Sound knowledge of the relevant legislation with regards to Winders, elevators, cranes, crushers & conveyors.Sound knowledge of the relevant safety standards.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings and perform fault-finding.Ability to work underground when required.Good understanding and knowledge of planned maintenance principles.Ability to work under pressure and without supervision.Good knowledge and use of MS office software.Ability to fault find during problem solving on all electrical and instrumentation equipment.Ability to compile reports i.e. technical, RCA documentsSelf-starter.Willing to work shifts when required.Qualifications & ExperienceElectrical trade certificate (Proof of Trade certificate and statement of results to be attached).Minimum of five years' experience as an artisan in electrical and instrumentation maintenance environment.Knowledge of Siemens equipment will be advantageous.Valid driver's license.Experience of winding systems will be advantageous.
