Requirements: Matric A tertiary qualification in a sales and/or marketing field (preferable) Computer literacy MS Office packages essential (Excel in particular) Proven sales track record 5 - 8 years experience in sales and sales support Drivers license and own transport Ability to travel Understands clothing / underwear : Size ranges Retail background Sales driven Independent retail knowledge Large footprint in independent retail Relationship management Increase sales Strategic element Budgets / Growing the business Closing the deal Motivated by numbers Duties and responisbilities: Sales Management Develop and manage the overall wholesale sales budget. Drive sales of the various brands into new and existing retail customers to expand the footprint of the brand in independent and chain stores throughout SA. Work closely with Sales Coordinator on new business development opportunities to meet new customer acquisition targets (volume and revenue). Explore opportunities to build brand awareness and sales at expos, conferences, etc. Develop appropriate sales & promotional campaigns to drive sales in retail in conjunction with the marketing team. Ensure implementation and success of campaigns. Develop and nurture relationships with customers and set the standards (and maintain) for exceptional customer service. Liaise with brand principals on ideas and strategies that can be used in SA. Work with sales agents to explore opportunities and drive new and replenishment sales. Key Account Management: Develop annual plan and budget for key accounts. Ensure that chain store/key account revenue targets are met. Build strong relationships within the customers structures to support, grow and develop footprint within these accounts. Explore opportunities to expand the product offering with existing and new key accounts. Negotiate, in conjunction with Managing Director, annual trading terms and price increases. Handle queries and issues as they arise. Sales Administration: Set targets and manage the performance of Reps, Sales Coordinator and Agents throughout the country. Provide ongoing support, training coaching and feedback to sales team through weekly sales meetings, phone calls and one-on-one sessions. Work closely with Operations Manager and team to ensure outstanding customer service in the wholesale segment of the business. Work closely with Marketing Manager to implement wholesale marketing calendar and ensure buy-in and success of marketing campaigns and promotions. Coordinating and presenting (where necessary) training to sales reps, independent retailers and chain store group trainings. Manage the implementation and launch of new brands and products into the wholesale segment. Check and approve monthly commission payments. Manage the budgeted expenses aligned to the wholesale segment. Actively and proactively participate as a member of the Leadership Team in conjunction with Managing Director, Operations Manager and Marketing Manager. Assist with the day-to-day management of the Durban office.
