Customer Care Assistant: Customer Care (Langa), Ref No. DSD 2019-48 Job Purpose: The Department of Social Development, Western Cape Government is seeking to employ an individual to provide customer care support. This position will provide the successful incumbent the opportunity to practice his/her knowledge and skills around client care to assist clients in order for Departmental services to be accessed. This post is based in Langa, Cape Town.
Minimum Requirements: Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent qualification); A minimum of 6 months' clerical experience.
Recommendation: Customer care/NGO experience.
Key Performance Areas: Perform front desk services by receiving and referring clients;Provide dispatch call service;Ensure register is signed and accurately completed;Facilitate all complaints and escalate accordingly;Compile monthly report regarding enquiries;Provide information to clients regarding available services;Assist clients on how to access services from the department;Render general administrative support services and maintain the database.Competencies: A good understanding of the following: Customer care, Office software applications; Customer care surveys; Social welfare services; Internal and external marketing and communication processes; Functions, programs and projects of the Department of Social Development; Information in the Department of Social Development domain; Communication (written and verbal) skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape; Proven computer literacy; Sound organising and planning skills; Ability to resolve conflict; Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Remuneration: R 173 703 per annum (Salary level 5)
Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed.
