Job Description:
The Department of Transport and Public Works , Western Cape Government aims to employ a suitably qualified and competent Professional Quantity Surveyor to manage all aspects of the sub programme for financial management and the implementation of projects in line with the WCG values. This post is based in Cape Town. CBD.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop quantity surveying related policies, methods and practices;
Ensure adherence to quantity determination standards;
Supervise quantity surveying work and processes
Provide solutions on non-compliance on quantity determination;
Ensure the adoption of technical and quality strategies;
Provide quantity surveying advice and technical support in the evaluation of costs;
Human capital development: Mentor, train and develop Candidate Quantity Surveyors and related technical and administrative personnel to promote skills/knowledge transfer and adherence to sound quantity surveying principles and code of practice;
Review the cost determinations of projects and estimates accomplished by building designers and/or sub-professional personnel;
Perform quantity surveying activities on buildings, structures or facilities: Co-ordinate professional teams on all aspects regarding quantity surveying services;

Job Requirements:

A minimum of 3 years post qualification Quantity Surveying experience;
Compulsory registration with SACQSP as a Professional Quantity Surveyor;
An appropriate Degree in Quantity Surveying or relevant qualification;
A valid code B (or higher) driving license
