THE PURPOSE OF THE WELDING MONITOR ROLE IS TO: Assist welding operators during the course of production activities (WPS, WPQR, mock-ups, sub-assemblies, welding control & supervision) railway applications.
To conduct in-line inspection before, during, and after welding.
To train welding operators on the requirements of the products.
To train and evaluate welding operators during qualification and at the beginning of the production phase.
THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITY WILL BE: Be proactive in the EHS risk situationUse the safety equipment and rules definedEvaluate new welders and define the necessary development plan to have the skills at the right levelParticipate in welder's review and evaluate autonomy level of operatorsReinforce the welding knowledge of operators identified during the welder reviewUnderstanding and application of specifications and standards of productsWelding qualification with welding school (management of welding qualifications)Reinforce training (general or individual) in case of welding quality level decreasingRealize welding mock-up requested by welding coordinationWork on manufacturing welding activities on bogie frame, according to the specification and standard in placeParticipate in the working area studiesBe a proactive participant in transversal action in continuous improvement Process as P-FMEA, APSYS, SWIP, 5S, Team 5 min meetingImplementation of APSYS (Lean manufacturing) subjects related to Industrial RoadmapThe preferred candidate will meet the following requirements: Grade 12 / MatricQualified Artisan (Trade Test) as Welder or Boilermaker (Red Seal)International Welding Specialist (IWS) / International Welding Practitioner (IWP)5 years minimum as a welding operator in a welding productionExperience in welding supervision, coordination, and/or trainingKnowledge of EN/ISO standards (EN ISO 9606, EN ISO 15085, ISO 3834, ISO 9712)Technical and behavioral skills / competenciesKnowledge of welding processesKnowledge of Non-Destructive Testing methodsSound working knowledge of welding proceduresKnowledge of welding imperfectionsRailway industry knowledge will be an advantageWorking knowledge of FMEA, QRQC, control plansThe ideal candidate will have the following competencies: Inclusive mindsetStrong sense of work ethicResilient, driven with a 'CAN DO ATTITUDE'Prior exposure to high-pressure environmentsKeen mind to deal with unexpected challengesSolution-orientedTeam Player.
