Job DescriptionOur client, a fast growingDigital Media businessbased inLondon, is looking to hirea Web Designer/Developerto join their team fromSouth Africa (remote work from home) as soon as possible.About the roleOur client specialises in providing bespoke websites, marketing and social media solutions for small tomedium sized businesses.This is the ideal role for an experienced Web Designer / Developer with modern WordPressexperience (including the Block Editor), PHP, HTML, CSS and Javascript. They are looking forsomeone with a keen interest in getting things done and who's not afraid to learn somethingnew.You have an eye for creative design and plenty of experience writing code. In this role you will be responsible for building websites using one of their starter kits in WordPress and 11ty, updating and adding content to current their client's sites and engaging with clients and responding to their needs.Some things they'd love to see (but are not required) in their ideal candidate:Have an understanding of what Full Site Editing is or have built sites with it in the pastExperience building with Advanced Custom Fields BlocksSomeone who understands when to try something new and when the existing tooling is right for the job.Experience making good use of ChatGPT and/or Github Copilot in a coding context, but also understanding how to improve on what they give you.Experience building and maintaining WooCommerce websitesExperience developing custom solutions for WordPress & WooCommerce and you will:Be organisedBe comfortable troubleshooting issuesBe comfortable dealing with clients directlyBe able to manage multiple projectsHave built websites using WordPress and the Block EditorHave an understanding of Component-based designHave an understanding of cPanel and WHMHave an understanding of DNS and comfortable making DNS changesHave an understanding of GIT and version controlThe positionis full time, permanent and fully remote work.Location:Candidate must be based in South Africa.Salary:Market related and depending on experience.Starting date:As soon as possible.Please apply online if you meet the above-mentioned requirements.Please assume that your application was unsuccessful If you have not been contacted by ARVO within 4 weeks.
