Job Summary Act as a link between management and the staff members on site. Ensure a productive workflow by establishing work planning and monitoring staff performance.Responsibilities Staff supervision Advise Senior Site Manager on staffing needs and replacementsSet out daily tasks for staffRecommend shifts and revise schedules if neededConduct weekly meetings with staff to get weekly feedbackSHEQResponsible for maintaining good housekeeping standards inside and outside the waste areaReport all incidents, spills and near missesEnsure that spills are cleaned upEnsure that the staff wear the correct PPEReportsDaily attendance register reportDaily shift reportProvide a report on all baled material within the different waste streams dailyMonthly production (bale count) reportMonthly production report for SortersProductionEnsure that all staff work as productively as possibleBook daily collections on the collections appImplement and supervise the workflow, reporting procedures and systemsIdentify cost reductions to increase productivityCoordinating and enforcing systems, policies and proceduresEnsure a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment and resourcesEnsure that no load is loaded without the PO number provided by the Senior Site ManagerMonitor and supervise all processes regarding the collection or delivering of material, such as number of bales and value of loadMonitor the average weight of all baled materialMonitor the weights of the cages collected from sites on a daily basisReport any challenges with collections to the Senior Site Manager Equipment and maintenanceReport breakdowns to the Senior Site ManagerFollow up on repairs to be done on the equipmentEnsure that everyone halts using the baler if a technical issue arisesNo tools or foreign objects must be placed close to the conveyerEnsure that the shift does not start bailing until the baler and conveyer are cleaned according to the checklistRequirements Minimum matric / grade 12Minimum of 1-year supervisory experience is requiredValid drivers licenseExcellent knowledge of different waste material streamsClear criminal recordEmployment will be implemented in accordance with the Employment Equity Act.Only Applicants considered for the role will be contacted.Closing date: 17th January 2025Should you wish to apply, please follow the online application process.
