Reporting into: Logistics Manager-Operations Objective:As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for these tasks (and not limited to): To ensure all logistical activities i.e. picking, packing and loading of vehicles are completed daily and to ensure the smooth running of the warehouse operations as per agreed standards Plan, organize, supervise and participate in the operations and activities of the Warehouse. Train and supervise assigned staff (Warehouse team). Ensuring that all work is done according to standards and within the set time frame. Organize and plan the required workload in order to maximise efficiency. Delegating work assignments, but also ensuring that efficiency is up to standard. Key performance areas Ensure picking is done timeously in accordance with planning in order to have loads ready for when vehicles drive Ensure that each load is checked and completed before loading and that returns are removed from vehicles Ensure vehicles are loaded as soon as possible once back from deliveries daily Ensure stock rotation system is followed and that stock is packed daily according to warehouse layout plan Housekeeping needs to be done on a daily basis Management of staff in order to complete daily tasks Always ensure that warehouse comply with Health & Safety standards Ensure that daily/monthly "Key Performance Indicators" (KPI's) are managed and achieved. Ensure weekly cycle counting are completed as requested. Working in accordance with the Afternoon Shift and/or warehouse process which my change from time to time. Matric or N3 Supply Chain and/or logistics diploma and/or equivalent required KPI management experienceProven staff management experience In addition, the employee may be assigned other duties within the area of their competence You will be required to alternate with the warehouse shift systems Code 8 Drivers License Excellent People Skills 2 to 3 Years Supervisory Experience – Advantageous Ability to use own initiative and multi-task Attention to detail Health and safety regulations. Stock taking experience. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Plan and schedule work. Work independently with little direction. Read, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Warehouse and stock control methods and procedures. Methods of receiving, inspecting and issuing stock Knowledge of warehouse operations and procedures. Ability to work under pressure Fluency in English
