Warehouse Receiving ClerkLocation:Olifantsfontein Reports To:Warehouse Manager / SupervisorJob Summary:The Warehouse Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing and documenting the receipt of all incoming materials, supplies, stock and products.
This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational skills and proficiency in operating Powered Pallet Trucks (PPT).Key Responsibilities:Receive and Inspect Shipments:Unload, verify, and record incoming shipments.Inspect goods for any damages or discrepancies and report to the supervisor.Compare received items against purchase orders and packing lists.Documentation and Record Keeping:Maintain accurate records of received goods in the warehouse management system.Ensure proper labeling and documentation for all received items.Prepare reports on receiving activities as required.Warehouse Organization:Organize and store received goods in the designated areas.Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.Ensure inventory is rotated according to the first-in, first-out (FIFO) method.PPT Operation:Safely operate Powered Pallet Trucks to move materials within the warehouse.Conduct routine maintenance checks on PPT equipment.Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while operating PPTs.Communication and Coordination:Coordinate with the procurement team and other departments regarding incoming shipments.Communicate any issues or delays in receiving to the appropriate personnel.Work collaboratively with other warehouse staff to ensure efficient operations.Qualifications:Education:High school diploma or equivalent.Experience:Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving clerk role preferred.Experience operating Powered Pallet Trucks (PPT) is required.Skills and Abilities:Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Proficiency in using warehouse management systems and basic computer applications.Ability to lift and move heavy items safely.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Certifications:Valid PPT (Powered Pallet Truck) certification is mandatory.Additional forklift or material handling equipment certifications are a plus.Working Conditions:Physically demanding environment requiring regular lifting and movement of goods.May require extended periods of standing, walking, and operating PPTs.Exposure to varying temperatures and conditions within the warehouse.
