A well established and thriving IT hardware company in JHB is seeking a Sr Manager to ensure that the organization runs smoothly, balancing efficiency with environmental, social responsibility and governance.
THE OVERVIEW Operational efficiency: Streamlining processes: Ensure that all aspects of the organisations operations run smoothly and efficiently. This involves optimising processes, reducing costs, and improving productivity across various departments.Resource management: Oversee the allocation and utilisation of resources, including human, financial, and material resources, to maximize efficiency and meet organisational goals.Strategy implementation: Contribute to or lead the development of operational strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives. Governance and sustainability: Environmental stewardship: The sustainability aspect of the role focuses on reducing the organisation's environmental impact as a business case for clients and for the organisation. This includes implementing eco-friendly practices, reducing waste, and managing energy use.Sustainable business practices: The role also involves integrating sustainability into the core business practices, ensuring that the company's growth is aligned with long-term environmental, societal, and governance goals.Compliance and reporting: Responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and reporting on ESG metrics to stakeholders.Work with the Finance Manager in building resilience in the value chain.As a member of the ESG committee, participate actively in all ESG related activities. THE BREAKDOWN Key duties include... Operations management: Analysing productivity data and optimising staffing and production capacity.Stay up to date with industry trends and practices including risks and opportunities in the sector.Design new processes to improve quality or increase productivity or profitability.Manage stock control and inventory checks.Communicate changes in order processes to relevant parties.Ensure compliance to health and safety regulations.Document procedures for third-party monitoring.Create and monitor project teams.Review workloads and manpower to ensure targets are met.Support the Managing Executive or executive teams vision and strategy. Financial management: Managing departmental budgets.Optimise stock holding in line with stockholding targets.Devise creative ways on unlocking cash tied in inventory. Staff leadership and management: Resource teams adequately to achieve business and operational targets.Manage the effective achievement of InnoVent group objectives through effective leadership, the setting of individual objectives, managing performance, and developing and motivating team to maximise performance.Build and manage a high performing team by providing leadership, role clarity, training and career development.Ensure open communication channels with staff and implement change management interventions where necessary.Define roles, responsibilities, individual goals and performance objectives for the team.Set KPIs and provide regular performance feedback through a well-defined and implemented performance review program within the business unit to achieve business targets.Performance manage resources in accordance with relevant policy and legislation.Promote an InnoVent centric and partnership approach to developing strong relationships with other working groups and ensure adherence to Group governance. Governance, risk and business continuity management: Ensure that appropriate governance systems are in place and in line with future requirements, i.e. policies, procedures and reporting structures.Continually assess the competitiveness of all operations programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries and markets.Stay up to date of new trends and innovations in operations.Manage business risk, through continuous internal and external monitoring of business impact, as well as changes in stakeholder needs.Lead and guide improvement projects that will increase profits or protect against risks in the function. Education: Minimum of a Business Management or Engineering degree.Management/Leadership program will be advantageous.Postgraduate qualification in business or equivalent for degree holders with no commercial qualification. Experience: At least 8 years of experience in an operational role with a demonstrated ability to manage and deliver on expectations.At least 5 years experience in a senior management role.
