Are you an experienced Warehouse Manager with a strong background in inventory management and logistics? Our client, a leading FMCG packaging company based in Durban, is seeking a dedicated and proactive professional to oversee their warehouse operations.
Requirements for this role;
• Minimum 10 years' experience in warehouse and logistics in a manufacturing company, preferably in the printing/packaging industry.
• 3 years bachelor's degree/Diploma in a related field or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably Syspro.
• Proven track record of leadership and the ability to train and develop a team of over 20 employees.
• Experience in import/export handling.
• Excellent analytical skills and a drive for continuous improvement.
• Deep understanding of production performance metrics, 5S, and Health & Safety practices.
• Professionalism and dedication to excellence in customer care.
• Ability to work independently to tight deadlines and proactive in solving problems.
• Willingness to work in a challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Inventory Management:
o Oversee the movement of goods in and out of the warehouse.
o Ensure accurate tracking of inventory levels.
o Implement inventory control procedures to prevent loss or damage.
o Manage monthly stock counts.
• Staff Management:
o Hire, train, and schedule shifts for warehouse employees.
o Ensure all staff follow safety protocols and operating procedures in line with our QMS.
o Track daily tasks and performance of warehouse staff.
• Facility Management:
o Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the warehouse facility.
o Manage repairs, cleaning, and ensure equipment (Forklifts, High Reach Trucks, and Delivery Trucks) is in good working condition.
• Despatching and Receiving:
o Coordinate with logistics companies for despatch and receiving operations.
o Ensure timely delivery of goods to customers.
o Obtain special rates from distribution companies for designated loads.
• Reporting and Analysis:
o Track and analyse inventory data to identify trends and forecast needs.
o Optimize warehouse operations.
o Ensure daily WIP Recons.
o Prepare reports on stock levels, ageing stock, offcut utilization, etc. for management.
