We invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for the Logistics Engineering Manager position under Supply Chain. The position will report to the Logistics Manager and is based in Dunnottar.
Job Purpose
Responsible for the site Logistics Engineering team. Design, develop and put in place solutions to improve logistic flows meeting Quality Cost Delivery Environment Health & Safety (QCDE) targets in compliance with regional priorities (regarding material flow, storage, packaging, warehousing, transport and respect of ERP rules). Apply the best core practices to improve Logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
Communicate daily with suppliers sharing procurement plan & challenging suppliers' stock items.
Implement, manage standard packaging solutions (purchase, design, prototype, validation) and monitor the budget follow-up.
Apply solutions to protect parts during all logistic operations (transport, unloading, storage, line feeding).
Save money & cash (calculate ROI, design standard packaging, reduce transport costs, and make business case to justify any investment).
Contribute with Regional Logistic Engineering to identify potential improvements in the whole value chain.
Reduce work labor time in the warehouse (picking, kitting hours) & in production.
Improve ergonomics at workstation and reduce waste packaging.
Manage the Project Supply Chain specifications and negotiate with the suppliers at site and project level.
Design internal logistic processes and ensure that the parameters in the ERP are correct.
Put in place actions to align physical flow and system flow and to improve the stock accuracy.
Manage packaging at all levels from business award to maintenance including purchase order and budget monitoring.
Define warehouse layouts, its internal/external flows and storage policy.
Participate in ABC classification and contribute to C-Class activity according to the standard rules in place.
Participate with Project Supply Chain Leader to the different Procurement Gates Review.
Reduce logistic costs and make business case.
Optimize the line feeding.
Work closely with industrialization or Process & Manufacturing Engineering, material planning, warehouse, sourcing, manufacturing teams.
Apply Environment Health & Safety requirements for logistics.
Management
Manage logistics engineers and technicians: provide a long-term vision to the team, set yearly objectives and targets.
Ensure site logistics engineers and technicians follow Logistic processes.

Minimum Requirements
National Diploma in Industrial Engineering or equivalent
Similar experience of 5-8 years in an industrial/manufacturing environment
Experience of min 5 years in Team management
Advanced knowledge of SAP
Proven project management experience
Analytical skills
Sound knowledge of Industrial and Supply chain processes
Proven industrial relations experience
Excellent communication and leadership skills

Special Requirements
The job involves frequent mobility, with work in several depots, and at times on the train corridors.
To carry out technical support and maintenance on 24/7 shift & on-call basis (night, day, weekend).
