Warehouse LeadYara Animal Nutrition's operations in South Africa include a raw materials processing plant and local head office in Umbogintwini near Durban, selling mineral feed supplements to feed producers and farmers across Southern Africa with sales to selected foreign countries. ResponsibilitiesTo lead, monitor, control, and supervise warehouse staff, ensuring that tasks such as packaging of products, dispatching of products, and receiving of goods occur within all safety parameters and per operational needs.
Manage and co-ordinate allocated warehouse staff to ensure that staff are effectively utilized and performance meets expectations.Provide instructions and guidance to staff.Monitor and coordinate the loading of all outbound loads as well as offloading of inbound loads.Ensure a shift handover is done, completed, documented, and done accurately with tasks or outstanding matters from the previous shift being actioned.Liaise and coordinate with planning and transporters.Ensure stock reconciliations are done on a monthly basis and that losses/gains are investigated on a monthly basis.Ensure related SOPs and Risk Assessments are kept relevant and updated, creating awareness and compliance with SOPs.Update stock report daily and take part in stock counts.Execute general administrative tasks such as time sheets (leave and overtime capturing), medical testing, training registers, stock (PPE) requests, postings on notice boards, and booking requests.Create PRs (purchase requisitions) for all required consumables and monitor consumables availability.Daily production postings and reconciliations.Take corrective actions where required such as performance counselling or disciplinary action.Together with senior management, ensure staff are given the opportunity to grow and develop to their full potential for the benefit of both themselves and the company. Ensure that staff are fully aware of their role and importance in the supply chain and that they are focused and committed to the achievement of the company's objectives.ProfileMatric Minimum.Tertiary qualification in Logistics or Warehousing may be preferred.Own reliable transport.Must be computer literate (Microsoft) and proficient; experience in SAP or enterprise system advantageous.Minimum 5 years warehousing experience, with experience in inbound and outbound logistics.Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience with the ability to lead teams and supervise business operations.Forklift and/or Payloader license preferred.Additional InformationThis role operates on a Shift Basis - Time = 10:00 - 22:00Market related salary with medical aid, retirement funding, and shift allowance.
