Ward Clerk Theatre - Life Hilton Private HospitalA vacancy exists for a Ward Clerk in the Theatre Unit reporting to the Unit Manager. The successful candidate will contribute towards the optimal functioning of the nursing team through effective interdepartmental liaising, communication, and administrative support.Critical OutputsEnsure optimal service levels whilst understanding and striving to achieve targets.To ensure the speedy and effective execution of non-nursing activities.Attend meetings and in-service training as scheduled.Ensuring a safe environment in all areas of the unit through staying up to date with safety standards and protocols.Knowledge of emergency plans and actions.Elimination of medico-legal risks through the correct identification and filing of patient's documentation.Maintenance of a positive appearance and behavior, within and outside hospital relations.Friendly and helpful client service.Live up to the Quality principles.Professional secrecy and discretion during contact with customers and colleagues.Ensuring effective communication between customers and colleagues.Conducting clerical duties as allocated by the Theatre Unit Manager within the three Management Processes, i.e., Quality, Contribution to Profit, and Optimal Staff Utilisation.Ensure quality client service.Ensure cost-efficiency regarding staff planning, stationery, and documentation orders as required by your position.Capturing of Theatre invoices on SAP.RequirementsGrade 12Good written and verbal communication in EnglishComputer literacyGood organisational skills are essential as well as teamworkAbility to work under pressure, as part of a team, precise and meticulous work completionGeneral administrative experience – at least 1 yearComputer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) is essential.Working knowledge of SAP would be an advantage.Coordinating bookings and patient transport.Service-oriented personalityAbility to interact with a diverse group of staff, patients, and clients.Data capturing.CompetenciesProblem solving, analysis, and judgementResilienceEngaging diversityVerbal & written communication and presentationEthical behaviourBuilding relationshipsCustomer responsivenessDrive and energyOrganisational awarenessEmail: ****** date: Tuesday, August 13, 2024Internal applicants - Before making an application, you are requested to discuss your application with your line manager.
