Waiter

This permanent position will suit a mature, competent, innovative and energetic person with an even temperament and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Suggest food and beverages to customers.
Upsell at every opportunity (food and beverage).
Ensure the food order is accurately prepared by kitchen staff and presented in a neat manner.
Cleans and polishes glassware, chinaware, hollowware and flatware.
Maintains cleanliness and mise-en-place level at working station and service pantry for smooth operation.
Follow health code standards with regards to the handling of food.
Set up tables in accordance with the Facilities Manager and / or function sheet.
Assist with all service set ups and breakdowns of functions;
Clean and removes dishes from the table after service is completed.
Clean all spillage during mealtime and at closing.
Always Maintain excellent grooming standard; and
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Supervisor.

Key Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Computer literacy, GAAP experience advantageous.
Minimum two (2) years' experience as a waiter in an upmarket bar, hotel or restaurant.
International experience in a similar environment will be advantageous.
Food and Beverage product knowledge.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Diligent, dedication and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure.
A willingness and passion to serve.
Ability to communicate, read and write in English essential.
Able to work long hours, day and night, including weekends and public holidays; and
A clear criminal record.
